The Facility Layout Problem is an issue that requires optimization of the layout with "Hard" modules. These modules have user-specified dimensions, so it is preferable to have an optimal layout for them to maximize the functionality. VIP-PLANOPT is a tool to obtain optimal or near-optimal layouts that satisfy this requirement.
